Symantec and Hewlett-Packard (HP) have announced that they have tied up to distribute Norton Online Backup bundled with their HP desktops and notebooks.
According to Symantec and HP, Norton Online Backup will come preinstalled, with 5GB of online storage for a 30 day trial period.
HP is already offering its computers with a 60-day trial version of Norton Internet Security.
Symantec has claimed that Norton Online Backup is available in 21 languages. The Norton Online Backup features 5GB of online storage. It lets users manage and restore lost files remotely from any computer with a Web browser connected to the Internet. It allows users to access the uploaded files anytime, anywhere online, and backups can be smoothly controlled for up to five PCs through the same central account.
After the expiry of one month trial period, the users can choose to continue using the Norton Online Backup paying $50 for an annual subscription.
Symantec India has declared that the Norton Online Backup service will shortly be available in India. However, the company hasn’t yet disclosed when and for how much, the Norton Online Backup service will be available in India.
